Who I am!

I am a woman on a mission.  I’ve been overweight/obese/morbidly obese all my life.  I’ve long been wanting to change my lifestyle, so that I can really live, and not just be stuck in a monotonous existence.

Several years ago, on September 8th, 2010 to be exact, I started my journey toward greater health: mental, physical, and spiritual.  I’ve been told over the years that my story can really help people, and I always thought I had to be the “perfect” weight for that to be true, for people to be inspired by my life journey.

Then I remember that this thing called life is about the journey, not the destination, so one day in May I took a chance and started this blog.  I write this blog for me. It represents all of me: my emotions, my physical attributes, my drive and zest to live my best life possible.

Join me on my journey, if you like.  I can tell you this: it will be one WILD RIDE!

  1. i found your blog through our mutual friend loren jay, yoga instructor extraordinaire. i must say i am so very impressed. i love your honest writing, and i find your outlook and motivation inspiring. i also have a passion for bikram, and after almost 8 months away from it, i crave it like a good blt. i can’t wait to start back up, and hope to see you around the studio.

  2. Good for you!!! I too love my yoga!!! Begin teacher training on March 22 2014 🙂 keep up the good work!! Very inspirational

  3. My yoga studio (Bikram Yoga NYC) posted your blog on Facebook. As a regular practitioner, sometimes I can get caught up in the idea of a “perfect” practice, and your blog was such a beautiful reminder to me that it’s about the journey and I should be living in every moment. Thank you!!

  4. Thanks for this inspirational blog. My “yogi friend” in Toronto, Canada forwarded it to me…I am always complaining about my “core”…this shows me some tips as to what I can do to better my journey!!! Bravo!!!

  5. Hello Miss Hawaiian Princess! Namaste all the way from the Philippines! I discovered your blog when it was shared in the Facebook page of the Bikram studio where I practice. I truly enjoy reading your blog. Your story is very inspiring! I am on my way to teacher training this spring in L.A. — a dream I am working hard to fulfill! I am so excited and like you I also feel that Bikram is a huge part of our journey. I hope to meet you someday in the hot room!

  6. We need to be friends. Or at least Bikram Buddies. Or Back-Havers. I stumbled upon your blog after a bit of a hiatus, and I love the courage you have to show your body doing the poses. I’ve often thought of doing this myself, but have lacked the courage. You give me hope. Maybe showing people what it takes for me to do this yoga, will inspire others, as you have inspired me.

    Many blessings to you.
